There are things you can do to prevent premature wear on the cutting unit bearings, giving you maximum life without needing to replace the blades early.
You must stop moisture passing the bearing seals of the cutting unit.
-Never clean your Omniblend jug in the dishwasher
-Never keep the base Immersed in water, e.g. in the sink. A short time as you wash it is ok.
-leaving the jug full of liquid for an extended period of time
